A Ph.D. candidate in psychology sued Rutgers University and Bert Rympa in Newark Federal Court, claiming Rympa, her thesis adviser, forced her into a sexual relationship and retaliated when she withdrew from it by ruining her career, in Essex County Court, Newark.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Jacob Health Care Center, in San Diego Superior Court; Corporate Cleaning Service, and Pit Boss Rib House, in Chicago Federal Court; the City of Sacramento, in Sacramento Federal Court; 888 Chinese Restaurant, and ANR Corporation Agent of Raceway No. 6775, in Houston Federal Court; Mercedes Benz Ltd. of Beverly Hills and affiliates, including Miller Infiniti and Rancho Auto Group, in Los Angeles Superior Court; HSBC Auto Finance, in San Diego Federal Court; URS Corp., Parsons Brinckerhoff, Alltech, Dewberry & Davis LLC, and Partnership for Response and Recovery, in a single claim in Los Angeles Federal Court; Harry's Nurses Registry, in Brooklyn Federal Court; Somerset Investors Corp., in Central Islip Federal Court, N.Y.; MGM Grand Detroit, in Detroit Federal Court; Bob Michael Associates, in Miami Federal Court; and Cypress Communications, and American Traveler Staffing Professionals, in West Palm Beach Federal Court.
