Renita White, for eight years the director of Jane Addams Hull House's Independent Living Programs, claims Hull House fired her on cooked-up charges after she followed doctor's orders and sought time off to relieve work-related stress, in Chicago Federal Court.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Lennar Corp., in San Diego Superior Court; The California Pizza Kitchen, in Los Angeles Federal Court; PDEI Inc. and Reactor Films, and TRM Manufacturing, in Los Angeles Superior Court; Delta Financial Corp. and Fidelity Mortgage, in Brooklyn Federal Court; Buy Owner of South Florida, in Fort Lauderdale Federal Court; RBC Dain Rauscher, in Manhattan Federal Court; Red Brick Mortgage, in Columbus, Ohio, Federal Court; and Imagesource Office Automation, Jigsaw Print Communications, Joseph Miranda Inc., and IB Furniture Inc., in Tampa Federal Court.
