Lord's Seed, based in Howe, Ind., violated the Agricultural Worker Protection Act by inducing workers to leave South Texas to work in Michigan, where they were cheated of wages and provided unsanitary and unsafe housing and work conditions, the workers complain in McAllen, Texas, Federal Court.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Prudential Insurance Co., on behalf of sales associates, in San Diego Federal Court; Decron Properties Corp., in Los Angeles Superior Court; Priority Freight Handling, in San Joaquin County Court; C&C Security Patrol, in San Jose Federal Court; Centurytel Inc., in Jefferson City, Mo., Federal Court; Metropolitan Delivery Corp., and Cobra Construction, in Fort Pierce Federal Court, Fla.; Miramar Ob-Gun, in Fort Lauderdale Federal Court; Settlement Funding LLC, in West Palm Beach Federal Court; and Weekley Homes, in Fort Myers, Fla., Federal Court.
