Employees filed a class action ERISA claim against Sovereign Bancorp in Philadelphia Federal Court, claming it overinvested their retirement money in Sovereign stock, a self-serving act that cost workers millions of dollars.

Michael Boone, a supervisor for Averitt Express and i3 Logistics, sexually assaulted a woman in his employ, she claims in Tuscaloosa Federal Court.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: IBM, in White Plains, N.Y., Federal Court; Shell Oil and Equilon, Staples, and Chevron, in Los Angeles Superior Court; Omnicon Group and Alcone Marketing Group, in San Diego Superior Court; International Paper Co., in Alameda County Court, Oakland; Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, in Clark County Court, Las Vegas; Beacon Bay Enterprises, and Ameripride Guard Services, in Orange County Court, Calif.; 3PD Inc., in Seattle Federal Court; SURTEC Inc., in Tucson Federal Court; and World Yacht Inc., in New York County Court.
