A black worker sued Verizon after finding a noose hanging in the workplace with his name on it, and says he is not the first Verizon employee to be threatened that way, in Essex County Court, Newark.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Radio Shack, Fidelity National Title Insurance, Gigante Market, PF Chang's China Bistro, Equinox Fitness Santa Monica, and Rio Bravo Restaurants, in Los Angeles Superior Court; Salus Surgical Group, in Los Angeles Federal Court; Ameristar Casino St. Charles, in St. Louis Federal Court; Infinity Painting, in Brooklyn Federal Court; The State Operated School District City of Newark, in Essex County Court, N.J.; Pulte Homes, in Fort Myers, Fla., Federal Court; HFS USA, Heart of Florida Cardiovascular Consultants, and Nationwide South, in Tampa Federal Court.
