Knox County, Tenn., puts workers' retirement money into its own account for weeks, to reap interest from it, before depositing it where it belongs, for employees' benefit, according to a class action in Knox County Chancery Court.

Wells Fargo Bank retaliated against an employee for speaking Spanish with Spanish-speaking customers in Green Valley, Ariz., where many customers prefer to speak Spanish, Martha Castillo says in a discrimination claim in Tucson Federal Court.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Cubic Defense Applications, in San Diego Federal Court; L.A. Mattress Co., Adir International dba La Curacao, and Brentwood Car Wash, in Los Angeles Superior Court; American Express Co., in an ERISA complaint, and Craft Worldwide Holdings, in Manhattan Federal Court; PLS Trucking, and Bloomberg, Solomon & Associates, in Atlanta Federal Court; Southdale Apartments Management, in Dallas Federal Court; American Residential Services, Collective Brands, Windsor Redevelopment Corp., Florida Waterproofing Supply, and Asset Investigation & Recovery, in Tampa Federal Court.
