Deputy probation officers sued Local No. 856 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and its officer Joe Martinelli for $10 million, claiming the Teamsters cheated them of overtime for a decade by telling them they were "professionals" and didn't qualify for it, in a class action in Marin County Court, Calif.

The National Labor Relations Board sued ADT Security Services in Grand Rapids, Mich., Federal Court, demanding that it be restrained from unilaterally changing terms and conditions of its unionized employees.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Hewlett-Packard and Electronic Data Systems, in San Diego Superior Court; Costco Wholesale Corp., Nelson Nameplate Co., Romantix / Goalie Entertainment, Loomis Armored US, and SOS Security, in Los Angeles Superior Court; GreatBanc Trust Co., in an ERISA claim, and Specialty Construction Brands / HB Fuller Co., in Chicago Federal Court; Allied Hospital Services, in Alexandria, Va., Federal Court; the 21 Club, in Manhattan Federal Court; Golf Cars of Houston, in Houston Federal Court; and North Versailles Township, in Pittsburgh Federal Court.
