Newspaper carriers say the Press-Enterprise and Belo Corp. failed to pay minimum wages, failed to pay overtime, made illegal deductions from paychecks and refused to reimburse them for expenses, in a class action in Riverside, Calif., Superior Court.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: the Rabbinical Seminary of America, in Brooklyn Federal Court; Big Lots Inc., in Buffalo Federal Court; FP Stores, J & M Sales, and National Stores, in a single claim in Los Angeles Superior Court; Starpoint Resort Group, and Wabash National Trailer Centers, in Clark County Court, Las Vegas; and Access Payment Services, for a mass layoff, in Atlanta Federal Court.
