The Brenham Banner-Press newspaper pays reporters for only 40 hours a week no matter how much overtime they work, according to a class action in Austin Federal Court.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Airtouch Cellular, in Los Angeles Superior Court; Flextronics America, in Alameda County Court, Oakland; GE Capital Franchise Finance Corp., and Apollo Couriers, in Orange County Court, Calif.; Sears Roebuck, in San Diego County Court, Vista; Alton and Co. Roofing, in Sonoma County Court, Calif.; Securitas Security Services, in Indianapolis Federal Court; Iowa College Acquisition Corp., in Broward County Court, Fla.; XpresSpa JFK Terminal 7, and Tai Pan Bakery, in Brooklyn Federal Court; Sud City Car Wash, in Central Islip, N.Y., Federal Court; City Wide Disposal, in Chicago Federal Court; and Network Engineering Technologies, in Urbana, Ill., Federal Court.
