A black man claims that after the Payson Regional Medical Center hired him for a management position, it fired him before he began , telling him that "being seen early in the morning at the home of an unmarried white woman showed poor judgment on his part," in Phoenix Federal Court.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Spearmint Rhino Cos. Worldwide, in Los Angeles Federal Court; Music Express, Unisource Worldwide, and Affordable Services, in Los Angeles Superior Court; The Cable Guys, in Memphis Federal Court; Wolverine Anesthesia Consultants, in Orlando Federal Court; Lawson Industries, and the Tampa Electric Co., in Tampa Federal Court; and Island Construction, in Fort Myers, Fla., Federal Court.

(Companies not separated by commas are defendants in the same case.)
