Employment

An employee says that when she applied for leave under worker's comp, her boss at Broadway Veterinary Care told her, "How dare you bite the hand that feeds you?" told her she had to have her husband work for her, then fired her, in Nassau County Court, N.Y.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Macy's, and Medical Management International, in Los Angeles Superior Court; Satellite Property Management, and San Marino Plastering, in Orange County Court, Calif.; Washington Inventory Services, in San Diego Superior Court; Good Samaritan Hospital, in Santa Clara County Court; Maximum Security Alarm, in Sacramento Superior Court; Burger King, in Fort Myers, Fla., Federal Court; The Tasting Room(s) 1, 2 & 4, in Houston Federal Court; Textron, in an ERISA complaint in Providence, R.U., Federal Court; and Dasher Harvesting and G&R Farms, in Statesboro, Ga., Federal Court.

(Companies not separated by commas are defendants in the same case.)
