A black woman says she lost her job at St. Barnabas Hospital after a boss called her "that African thing that calls herself a Christian. She's not a Christian. She's a demon-African voodoo, and it works," in Bronx County Court.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Farmers Insurance Exchange, in Los Angeles Superior Court; Jack in the Box, in San Joaquin County Court, Calif.; ITT Technical Institute, and Cemex Cement, in Houston Federal Court; Westlake Hardware, in Kansas City, Mo., Federal Court; Sunbelt Rentals, in Ocala, Fla., Federal Court; Wellcare Health Plans, and Knight Enterprises SE, in Tampa Federal Court.

(Companies not separated by commas are defendants in the same case.)
