Two jail guards say the Erie County Sheriff demanded they be sprayed in the face with chemical agents as "on-the-job training," and they both suffered burned skin and eyeballs, in Erie County Court, Buffalo, N.Y.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Student Transportation of America, in Santa Barbara Superior Court; Always On, and AT&T and Pacific Bell Telephone, in Alameda County Court, Oakland; Madison Square Garden, in Manhattan Federal Court; Davis Bancorp, in Chicago Federal Court; AT&T Southeast, in Atlanta Federal Court; Dolgencorp, in Baltimore Federal Court; the Township of Teaneck, in Newark Federal Court; Prince Telecom, Kamal Corp., and Girlie's Ambulette Service, in Brooklyn Federal Court; and Non-Secure Programs Inc., in Pensacola, Fla., Federal Court.

(Companies not separated by commas are defendants in the same case.)
