A registered nurse claims Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Saint Barnabas Health Care System fired her after her supervisor said she wanted to make the evening shift "lily white," in Bergen County Court, Hackensack, N.J.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Tesoro Petroleum Corp., in San Diego Federal Court; Cumulus Media, in Alameda County Court, Oakland; Sysco San Francisco, in Alameda County Court, Fremont; Goglanian Bakeries, and Lifetouch Portrait Studios, in Orange County Court, Calif.; US Fidelis, in St. Louis Federal Court; SMC Communications of Illinois, in Chicago Federal Court; FC Designs, in Houston Federal Court; Ivy H. Smith Co., in Alexandria, Va., Federal Court; Solvay Pharmaceuticals, in Richmond, Va., Federal Court; ML Specialty Construction and V.P.I. Marine Services, in Brooklyn Federal Court; Direct Heating & Cooling, in Fort Myers. Fla., Federal Court; Orlando Realty and Property Management, in Orlando Federal Court; and Great Expectations of Lake County, in Ocala, Fla., Federal Court.

(Companies not separated by commas are defendants in the same case.)
