SAN DIEGO (CN) - A woman who attended an event for dog owners says in court that San Diego Mayor Bob Filner grabbed her butt and rubbed it as his bodyguards watched.
Jeri Dines sued Filner and the city of San Diego on Wednesday in Superior Court.
It is the seventh sexual harassment lawsuit filed against Filner, from a total of eight plaintiffs, according to the Courthouse News database.
Filner was mayor of San Diego from December 2012 until August 2013, when a flurry of sexual harassment allegations forced him from office. He was a 10-term congressman before that.
After resigning, Filner pleaded to misdemeanor charges of false imprisonment and battery.
In her lawsuit, Dines claims that Filner "rubbed and grabbed" her butt at the Fiesta Island Dog Owners event on May 25, 2013. She says that Filner's bodyguards, who were city employees, saw Filner do it but failed to stop him or protect her.
She seeks punitive damages for sexual battery, gender violence and sexual harassment.
