EEOC Says St. Louis Rams Can’t|Fire Quarterback For His Epilepsy

ST. LOUIS (CN) - The St. Louis Rams fired Ron DeBuque because he has epilepsy, the EEOC claims in Federal Court. The EEOC wants the Rams to pay punitive damages for discrimination.

The EEOC also wants the court to order the Rams to stop discriminating against people with disabilities. And it demands the team make DeBuque whole with unspecified actual and punitive damages.

The suit was filed one day after the winless Rams fired head coach Scott Linehan and replaced him with defensive coordinator Jim Haslett.
