Education Boards

A federal court in Kentucky dismissed a due process suit against Governor Andy Beshear brought by seven former members of the state’s Board of Education, who claimed the governor unconstitutionally fired them without cause minutes after taking office. The governor is permitted by statute to “abolish and reconstruct” education boards in the state. 

FRANKFORT, Ky. — A federal court in Kentucky dismissed a due process suit against Governor Andy Beshear brought by seven former members of the state’s Board of Education, who claimed the governor unconstitutionally fired them without cause minutes after taking office. The governor is permitted by statute to “abolish and reconstruct” education boards in the state.
