Ed Begley Says Company Used Name Without Permission

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Actor and eco-friendly activist Ed Begley, Jr., says an air conditioning company used his name and likeness to push its energy-saving and environmentally friendly air conditioners.

Begley says in Superior Court that since April 1, Greenway Design Group has used his name and a picture of him on marketing materials and websites to sell its HVAC pre-cool systems called Cool-N-Save, even though "at no time did Ed Begley, Jr., give defendants permission" to use his name or likeness.

Begley seeks at least $1.4 million for violation of right to publicity, unfair competition and unjust enrichment.

He is represented by Brian D. Henri with Thomas Whitelaw & Tyler LLP.
