Drone challenge crashes

OAKLAND — A California federal judge threw out a lawsuit filed by a Sonoma County resident who claimed that the local government violated her constitutional rights by conducting warrantless searches of her property using drones. Although the resident provided information about the county’s drone program, she did not allege how it affected her or violated federal law. The resident “may disagree with the county’s use of drones, but that is not enough to state a claim,” the judge ruled.
