Dreadlocks case continues

GALVESTON, Texas — A Texas federal court tossed the race discrimination, but not sex discrimination, claims brought by a Black high school student against his school district, which placed him in suspension over the length of his dreadlocks. The district could not provide a reason for sex-based distinctions between hairstyles in its dress code. The state governor and attorney general are dismissed entirely from the suit, however.
