Dragon Fish Smuggler Gets A Year In Prison

LOS ANGELES - The leader of a three-man ring that smuggled endangered dragon fish from Southeast Asia into the United States was sentenced on Tuesday to a year and a day in federal prison. Bruce Penny, 37, of Cypress, smuggled and sold several Asian Arowanas to a man in New York. The dragon fish, also called lucky fish, go for several thousand dollars in the United States. They grow up to 3 feet long. Penny's cohorts were sentenced to probation.
