Double Hazmat Fee|Pays for Preparedness

WASHINGTON (CN) – To fund the national Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness grants program the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration is more than doubling the registration fee for transporting certain hazardous materials.     The fee, which jumps from $1,000 to $2,500, funds the $28,300,000 grant program. Small businesses and not-for-profit organizations are exempted.     The rule is effective April 29.     Click the document icon for this regulation and others.
