MANHATTAN (CN) - The owner of a clothing line for dogs wants to block a New York nightclub from paying rapper DMX until he finishes paying the more than $200,000 he allegedly owes the canine clothier.

In 2007, Earl Simmons, professionally known as DMX, was ordered to pay Amusing Diversions Inc. $281,545 for failing to promote the company's line of dog clothing, including hats, scarves and bomber jackets. DMX's brother-in-law called the amount "pocket change" for DMX at the time, according to the clothier's attorney.
Amusing Diversions says the rapper still owes $200,590 plus interest and has actively avoided paying it.
DMX is allegedly scheduled to perform at the Webster Hall nightclub on Aug. 10, and Amusing Diversions wants the New York Supreme Court to bar the venue from paying him until he satisfies the 2007 judgment.
Amusing Diversions says nightclub owner Webster Hall Entertainment Corp. has refused to respond to a subpoena seeking information about DMX's whereabouts, his funds and his agents.
The dog business owner claims Webster Hall is in contempt of court, and should be fined $250 plus court costs and ordered to turn over any money it planned on paying the rapper.
