‘Dog’ Chapman Sues His Attorneys

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman claims his attorneys negotiated and prepared contracts that allowed "illegal payment of commissions and royalties to Boris Krutonog" for Chapman's "acclaimed A&E reality television series, 'Dog the Bounty Hunter.'" Chapman claims the attorneys were simultaneously working for Krutonog, a producer.

Chapman, a frequent litigator, sued Myman, Abell, Fineman, Greenspan & Light, aka Myman, Fineman, Greenspan, Fox & Light, and Leslie Abell, in Superior Court. He alleges legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty.

Chapman claims that while his attorneys were working for him, they "were also simultaneously retained by Boris Krutonog ('Krutonog') for the purposes of negotiating and protecting Krutonog's interests in securing illegal compensation, commissions and royalties arising from the performance of the aforementioned artistic and talent-related services furnished by plaintiffs," who include four other Chapmans and Dog TBH Corp.

Chapman claims that the attorneys, and Krutonog, who is not a defendant in this case, knew that Krutonog needed, but lacked, a license as a talent agent to perform the services he offered.

Chapman seeks exemplary damages and costs. He is represented by Lawrence Eisenberg.
