Doctor Sues Courtney Love|for $48,250 Plus Interest

MANHATTAN (CN) - Courtney Love owes a doctor $48,250, plus interest and costs, he claims in a summons and notice in New York County Supreme Court.

The 1-page document claims that Love owes Dr. Edward Ratush $48,250, and has owed it, and interest, since Nov. 29, 2010.

After the boilerplate Summons, the entire Notice states: "Notice: The nature of this action is: Breach of Contract, Account Stated, Money Due and Owing, and Unjust Enrichment.

"The relief sought is: Money damages of $48,250.00, plus interest, costs and Attorney's fees, and granting such other and further relief as the Court shall find just, proper and equitable.

"Upon Defendant's failure to appear herein, judgment will be entered by default for the sum of $48,250.00, with interest from the date of November 29, 2010 and the costs of this action."

Ratush is represented by Max Vilenchick.

Ratush is a psychiatrist, according to information published on several medical websites.

Love is a former frontwoman for the group Hole and a singer, designer and artist.
