LOS ANGELES (CN) - The editor of Adjuster.com libeled a doctor in a series of articles calling him a scoundrel and accusing him of breaking the Hippocratic oath and being protected by Hezbollah, the doctor claims in Superior Court.
Dr. Munir Uwaydah says Adjuster.com Enertainment published a July 5 article titled "Where's Munir? Workers' Compensation Treating Doctor Wanted For Questioning About The Murder of Juliana Redding Must Be Somewhere."
A week later, the website posted two follow-up articles under similar titles, Uwaydah claims. He says the articles "contain untrue facts and make untrue implications," including that he "is guilty of criminal acts" and "is currently being protected by Hezbollah."
He says the libelous articles "clearly exposed (him) to hatred, contempt, ridicule, and obloquy."
Uwaydah allegedly asked Lonce Lamon, editor of Adjuster.com, to retract the articles, but Lamon has yet to publish a correction or retraction.
Uwaydah seeks general, special and punitive damages for the "severe emotional and physicall distress" he says the articles caused.
