Dita Von Teese Says She Was Victim|of a ‘Mel Gibson-Like Anti-Semitic’ Tirade

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Burlesque artist Dita Von Teese says she was the victim of anti-semitism from her former landlord, who she says "repeatedly went on Mel Gibson-like Anti-Semitic tangents, personally attacking [Von Teese's] Jewish managers and business partners" who sought return of her $5,000 deposit.

Von Teese claims in Superior Court that Lallubhai Patel also wrote her a note that she should "[b]e aware of Jews. In your business no one can do anything without them. Just a reminder to be cautious" and "Jews they have shucks [sic] the whole world and still more to come."

Von Teese says it was only after Lullabhai received correspondence from her attorneys did he provide a full accounting of his claimed repairs to the property.

She claims she was unfairly charged for a "complete refinishing" of all the property's woodwork, a paint job, and the replacement of "sundry items such as a $25 soap dish from Home Depot."

Von Teese seeks unspecified damages for civil rights violations.

She is represented by Keith Fink with Fink & Steinberg.
