SAN FRANCISCO — A federal court in California granted a temporary restraining order to disabled students in the state who are challenging a state law that makes independent study the primary option for distance learning during the 2021-22 school year. Per the order, the state must restore the status quo and ensure the students have access to virtual instruction, “including direct assistance from trained instructors and opportunities for interaction with peers.”
