Disney Settles Animator’s|’Frozen’ Copyright Claim

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit that claimed Disney's hit film "Frozen" violated copyright on an animator's short film, because the parties have resolved the case.

Animator Kelly Wilson sued Disney in March 2014, claiming its trailer for "Frozen" was substantially similar to her animated short "The Snowman."

U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria in April rejected Disney's request for dismissal.

In Wednesday, Chhabria dismissed it without prejudice, saying the parties have resolved it.

Wilson's attorney, Ted Baer of Santa Barbara, said he could not comment on the terms of the resolution.

Disney's attorney Kelly Klaus, with Munger Tolles in San Francisco, did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the terms on Thursday.
