Disney CEO Says Phishers Used His Name

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Disney CEO Thomas Staggs says someone registered an email account under his name and sent messages to Disney employees requesting confidential information. He claims the unknown defendants also "sent emails purporting to be from Staggs to members of the press and financial community, which implied that Disney was engaging in financially irresponsible business ventures approved by Staggs."

The defendants identified themselves as "Tom" from the email account [email protected], according to the Superior Court complaint.

Staggs and Disney seek an injunction and damages from John Does 1-25. They are represented by J. Andrew Coombs.
