Disabled Boy’s Mom Say DC Housing|Ignored Complaints Of Rat Invasions

WASHINGTON (CN) - The District of Columbia Housing Authority ignored a mother's complaints that rats in her apartment repeatedly gnawed through her disabled son's feeding tube until a local TV station broadcast a story about it, the mom claims in a $5 million demand in Federal Court.

The mother claims her son suffered malnutrition from the repeated rat invasions for two years, and suffered additionally because the defendants refused to provide them with a thermostat. Channel 7 News ran a story on the conditions in September 2007.

The mom and her four kids are represented by Harvey Williams.
