Disability Examiners May|Shortcut Some Claims

WASHINGTON (CN) - State Social Security Administration disability examiners may make findings that are "fully favorable" to the claimant, without approval by medical or psychological consultants, in certain cases.

The agency has temporarily revised its rules to allow the examiners to make the determinations in claims the SSA considers under its rules for quick disability determinations or under its compassionate allowance initiative.

The rule allows awards to go more quickly to claimants who are highly likely to get them eventually anyway.
