LOS ANGELES (CN) - DirecTV on Friday accused Al Jazeera America of breach of contract, in a heavily redacted lawsuit in Superior Court.
Roughly seven pages of the 11-page complaint are blacked out, including six complete pages in a row.
In the last, partial sentence before the six pages of complete redactions, the complaint states: "On July 13, 2005, DirecTV entered into an affiliation agreement with Current TV, LLC ('Current'). The next five lines and six pages are blacked out.
All that is clear is that DirecTV seeks declaratory judgment, damages for breach of contract, and wants Al Jazeera ordered to specifically perform its obligations.
DirecTV is represented by Michael Baumann, with Kirkland & Ellis.
