Detaining for ICE

TRENTON, N.J. — A federal court in New Jersey overturned a state law, finding it is unconstitutional under the U.S. Constitution’s supremacy clause to bar state facilities from agreeing to imprison immigrant detainees brought by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The law is preempted by federal immigration law.
