LOUISVILLE (CN) - A Bullitt County sheriff's deputy has been accused of sexually assaulting a former female inmate and trying to keep her silent by giving her illegal drugs and special privileges.
Rhonda Willock, a former inmate at the Kentucky Correctional Institute for Women, claims sheriff's deputy Joseph L. Rogers would arrange to drive her to and from court appearances.
"During these transports, Rogers sexually assaulted Ms. Willock, both verbally and physically," Willock claims in her lawsuit in Federal Court.
Rogers tried to keep her from reporting the ongoing abuse by taking her to her sister's house to see her children, including a newborn baby she had delivered in prison, the lawsuit claims. He also tried to shut her up with illegal drugs and threats, Willock claims.
The plaintiff demands punitive damages, calling Rogers' conduct "grossly negligent, malicious, sadistic, wanton, unnecessary, oppressive and fraudulent."
She is represented by Scott Cox and Michael Goodwin with Cox & Mazolli PLLC.
