Dental Assistant Facing|Sex Charges Sued

SAN DIEGO (CN) - A woman has sued a former San Diego dental assistant who faces charges of sexually assaulting women while they were sedated at an oral surgery center.

Roxanne Antonio sued Luis Ramos in San Diego Superior Court Tuesday, claiming Ramos sexually harassed her in June 2015 while he was employed as a dental assistant at Park Boulevard Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in San Diego.

Antonio claims to have had a "business, service or professional relationship" with Ramos, although her complaint does not make clear whether she was a patient at the surgery center or worked with Ramos.

In her 4-page complaint, Antonio says Ramos made sexual advances that were unwelcome without her consent. She says she could not easily end the relationship with Ramos.

Antonio also claims gender violence, hate violence and civil rights violence, and says that Ramos "committed violent sexual acts" against her. She seeks punitive damages.

The San Diego District Attorney's Office also said this week that it had identified 12 additional victims since a 17-year-old girl came forward in February saying she woke up at the center to find Ramos touching her. She informed authorities the same day and surveillance camera footage was seized which showed Ramos touching the teen.

So far 13 victims have been identified, according to the district attorney. Some of the victims came forward and some were identified while detectives pored over more than 500 hours of surveillance footage, according to the district attorney.

Ramos is being held on $1 million bail and additional charges were added this week. He now faces 31 counts on felony sexual battery of an institutionalized victim, misdemeanor sexual battery and felony sexual penetration of a person under an anesthetic, according to the DA.

The most serious charge includes 2 counts of vaginal penetration by finger, prosecutors said. A preliminary hearing is set for April 5.

Antonio is represented by Daniel Gilleon and Samuel Clemens of The Gilleon Law Firm, which did not return a phone request for comment.
