Dennis Kucinich Sues His Publisher

LOS ANGELES (CN) - U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich says publisher Phoenix Books refused to release his autobiography early enough in the 2008 presidential campaign and never paid him for writing the book.

Kucinich says he began promoting the book in September 2007, appearing on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno and holding book signings, but Phoenix Books and Audio delayed distribution until months later.

When it finally released the book, Kucinich says, Phoenix did not supply stores with enough copies. Kucinich says he had to do all the promotion himself, even arranging shipments to bookstores where he was to appear.

Kucinich says Phoenix hasn't paid him a dime for the book, and refuses to tell him how many copies have sold.

Kucinich, D-Ohio, is represented in Superior Court by Stanley Lieber.
