FORT WORTH — A Texas federal court is temporarily ordering a nonprofit to suspend its business grant program that gives money to business owners who are Hispanic, Black, Asian, women, queer, military vets, located in low- and moderate-income areas. A conservative advocacy group sued on behalf of a white business owner who is not eligible for a grant; the program is likely illegal under a Reconstruction-era law prohibiting racial discrimination in contracts.
