Defense Missiles

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Defense Department has decided to decommission the Ballistic Missile Defense System so it can build a new one.

Improved technology and parts of the old system would be used to create an integrated and layered approach, according to the Department's proposal. The President and Congress would have to approve and fund the new system.
