Defense Contractor Fraud

Two defense contractors were sentenced Thursday to 15 months in federal prison and ordered to pay about $2 million combined in fines and restitution for fraud, conspiracy and dodging taxes. Their companies owe another $2.4 million.

SAN DIEGO — Defense contractors Jeffrey Harrington and Michael Mayer, both of San Diego, were sentenced Thursday to 15 months in federal prison and ordered to  fines and restitution.

Harrington owes $860,000 and Mayer must pay $1.1 million for fraud, conspiracy and dodging taxes. Their companies Veteran Logistics, Industrial Xchange, and Boston Laser Technology must forfeit $1.4 million and face fines of $1 million.
