LOS ANGELES (CN) - Def Leppard's personal manager claims the band owes $700,000 for her help promoting two successful tours. Trudy Green sued the rock band in Superior Court.
Trudy Green Management claims that in 2005 it agreed to share management duties with (nonparty) HK Management, in exchange for half of a 15 percent commission.
Green says she spent months marketing the band's 2008 European tour.
After that tour, she says, the band refused to pay her $75,000 bill, but tour manager/defendant Mark Litten told her it would be worth her while to quit trying to collect for the European tour and focus on marketing for the much larger upcoming U.S. tour.
Green says she agreed.
Again, Green says, she ran extensive marketing and promotion campaigns, and bolstered ticket sales by setting up band interviews and other publicity for the 40-date tour, which was a success.
But halfway through the tour, she says, the band fired her.
Def Leppard refused to pay her again, she says, and her bill for the U.S. tour alone came to $637,000.
Green sued band members Joe Elliot, Phil Collen, Rick Savage, Rick Allen and Vivian Campbell, along with the band's operating company, Def Leppard Touring, its U.K. merchandiser Bludgeon Riffola, and Litten, the band's tour accountant and assistant tour manager.
