Debt-Repayment Scheme

A California appeals court <a href="http://www.courthousenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Debt.pdf"><strong>ruled</strong></a> that debt repayment company Nationwide Biweekly and related entities are entitled to a jury trial over liability and penalties related to charges that they operate illegally, including offering services without a license to do so.

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) — A California appeals court ruled Wednesday that debt repayment company Nationwide Biweekly and related entities are entitled to a jury trial over liability and penalties related to charges that they operate illegally, including offering services without a license to do so.

In a related federal case, the companies have already paid a $7.3 million fine for misconduct.
