COLUMBIA, S.C. – An insurance company does not have a duty to defend or provide liability and underinsured motorist coverage to the family of a young child who died of hyperthermia after her father accidentally left her in the backseat of his truck while he was at work, the South Carolina Court of Appeals ruled.
