Death in jail

CINCINNATI — The Sixth Circuit upheld the denial of qualified immunity for several Crawford County, Michigan, officers and revived deliberate indifference claims against an officer in a case arising from the death of a man who exhibited symptoms of delirium tremens and suffered acute respiratory failure after being booked into jail. The court found the man experienced a “clearly established life-threatening medical condition for at least two days prior to his incapacitation,” which was disregarded.
