Death for Rock Thrower

(CN) - The State Department on Friday condemned Iran for upholding the death sentence of a 20-year-old who threw rocks during a December protest against the country's election results. Mohammad Amin Valian was charged with "warring against God."

"We find this disproportionate punishment deplorable and urge his immediate release," the department said in a statement.
