Dead dog damages

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Supreme Court of Wyoming upheld the lower court’s judgment in favor of a trapper who was sued by a family after his snares caught and killed the family’s dogs. Their emotional distress claims are not compensable because dogs are property, and state law bars emotional damages from the loss of a pet.
