WASHINGTON (CN) – Two men say professional soccer team DC United owes them commission for securing a lucrative sponsorship deal with Volkswagen. They claim that after they got the client, MacFarlane Chang DC Soccer, which owns and operates the team, went behind their backs and cut them out of their 22 to 25 percent commission.
Chris Jones and Lloyd Mair, both of New York City, say they offered to lower their commission rate, but DC United refused, saying someone else had taken credit for the deal.
The men seek more than $75,000, and attorneys fees. They are represented by Robert Tolchin with Berkman Law.
