Dallas County Sues Sheriff & Discovery TV

DALLAS (CN) - The Dallas County Commission seeks an injunction to prevent Sheriff Lupe Valdez from allowing a Discovery TV crew into the county jail. The commission says it is concerned about liability arising out of Discovery's planned documentary.

The County Commission sued its own sheriff and Discovery Communications in Dallas County Court. It claims, "Sheriff Valdez impermissibly entered into this agreement without the authorization or knowledge of the Commissioners Court."
