CVS Pharmacy Settles With Texas

HOUSTON (CN) - CVS Pharmacy will pay $315,000 to settle a case brought by the State of Texas after hundreds of receipts containing complete credit card numbers with expiration dates and prescription sleeves bearing customers' birth dates were found in a Dumpster behind a CVS in Liberty, Texas. The pharmacy chain also will appoint a corporate privacy protection officer and train employees how to dispose of records.
