Cuomo immune from Covid-19 suit

MANHATTAN — The Second Circuit affirmed a New York federal court’s decision to grant qualified immunity to former governor Andrew Cuomo and two other officials, who were sued by the children of residents of nursing homes and adult care facilities who died of Covid-19 in the early days of the pandemic. Controversial state directives may have contributed to the 15,000 deaths at these facilities, but “the directives were a legitimate exercise of government power.”
